This recipe came from the back of a package Knorr® Au Jus gravy mix. Serve with oven-roasted potatoes and fresh green beans.
Recipe by: Judy Soyez Yield: 4 servings
Ingredients
3 tablespoons butter, divided
4 (5-ounce) beef tenderloin, strip or sirloin steaks, 1/2-inch thick
1 (8-ounce) package fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1/2 cup dry Marsala wine
1/2 cup water
1 package Knorr® Au Jus gravy mix
1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, chopped
Directions
Dry steaks with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until foam subsides. Cook steaks until desired doneness, about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove steaks to serving platter and keep warm.
Melt 1 tablespoon butter in same skillet over medium-high heat and cook mushrooms and onion, stirring occasionally, until mushrooms start to brown, about 8 minutes. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds. Stir in wine and cook 1 minute. Stir in water, Knorr ® Au Jus gravy mix and thyme and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 minute. Stir in remaining 1 tablespoon butter until melted. Top steaks with sauce and serve.
